When I was 13 years old I got the typical bullseye rash... because of myself and my mother not knowing anything about lymes and the rash we just let it go and i took benedryl...a few months went by and I got more spots and they continued to get larger. I finally went to the doctor and got the 28 days of doxy. The rash went away and I thought everything was fine. Two years later I woke up one morning with severe pain in both my knees. I went to the ER and was told to take tylenol.
I am now 19 about to be 20. I still to this day have severe joint pain, fatigue, trouble walking small distances, and a few other less bothersome symptoms. I have been to countless doctors ( disease specilaist, podiatrist, bone doctors, neurologists) Ive been on antibiotics more times then I can even begin to tell you. I have had MRIs, bone scans, a pic line, (and a severe allergic reaction to the pic line anti biotics I was given) Ive had this thing where the neurologist zaps you with this thing to check out your nerves. Ive had a ton of blood work done, ive been given every kind of pain and nerve medication you can think of.Ive even been sent to philly because i was told they were the best doctors around but all I end up getting told to do in the end is just take tylenol.
I am at a loss. I dont know what else to do, I dont know who else can try to help me. 6 years is a long time to have this problem. I'm also seeking a LLMD near Somerset, NJ. My son has recently moved there and has been getting treatment in CT for his Lyme and Bartonella and needs someone close to him. Please email me if you know of a good doctor and anything about his philosophy of treatment. Thanks, Donna

There is a group of natural practitioners in nj who treat chronic illness if you are open to natural therapies. They work with many people who have chronic conditions like lyme that long term antibiotics do not cure. PM me if you are interested in the names.
