Hi everyone. I am looking for a good LLMD in the Upstate New York area, as close to Binghamton as possible. Also an LLMD who may take insurance or if not won't cost me my first born as I have been trying to live on disability for months now. Thank you very much!

Can you help me? I have been searching for a Lyme literate doctor in the Syracuse/Binghamton/Cooperstown(Possibly Oneonta/Utica) area without luck. I have been told that any infectious disease doctor will do. I have also been told that since one blood test for Lyme came back negative, I do not have Lyme. These conclusions are not consistent with what I have read of Lyme Disease.
I would appreciate a quick response because I have been having seizures and they are getting worse.

Can anyone tell me, since there is a high degree of false negatives with Lyme testing, how can I know if I should rule it out????

To make me feel better, can anyone tell me if seizures caused by Lyme show up in an EEG/MRI/CT scan?

Myfirsttry, I don't have a list, so I can't send you a recommendation, but if you start a new thread, the people who work on this forum are more likely to see it. Just find the "post new topic" icon at the bottom left of this screen and you will be able to post a new topic.

They may or may not see this reply. [Smile]

Dear Myfirsttry,
Welcome to the supportive LymeNet community. Sorry you've got so many health challenges now!

I saw your first post in chaps' thread on food allergies, and it sounds like Lyme disease & synergistic co-infections are impacting your health.

Good news: There are effective treatments that can help you heal!

Only an ILADS-active LLMD will be able to properly diagnose and treat you. The majority of infectious disease doctors remain in the dark.

My experienced LLMD says many patients with Lyme neuroborreliosis have "normal" EEG and MRI brain scans from a neurologist. I did. I was having focal seizures from untreated chronic Lyme disease, but they've stopped now that I'm in treatment with a good LLMD.

Other members will be able to give you contact info for LLMDs near you.

Remain hopeful, we'll guide you thru this!
Smile
