Hello everyone, I have recently found out that I have lyme disease and want to start a dialogue with doctors about treatment. I have heard that herbs and antibiotics can be equally effective so I want to both holistically minded and conventional doctors. I currently live in Brookly, NY Thanks, Alden [email protected] Posted by littlebit27 (Member # 24477) on :

- In addition to supplements, many LL naturopathic doctors will also use antibiotics for treating lyme just as many LL MDs use Rx along with supplements to help support the body. -------------
Topic: How to find an ILADS-educated lyme literate (LL) professionals in these areas:
Naturopathic doctor (ND); Acupuncturist (L. Ac.), a doctor of Oriental Medicine (O.M.D.), or a doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine (D.Ay.), certified herbalists or nutritionists, . . .
. . . Holistic MDs, and also Doctors of Osteopath (DO) and Doctors of Chiropractic (DC), etc.
** Includes many professional links, articles and books on complementary / integrative methods - & RIFE links -- all by LL authors.
Also included are basic links explaining the principles of herbal medicine.
BODY WORK considerations (geared to lyme patients) are discussed; with links. -

Yes, this is true but a naturopathic doctor's ability to prescribe medications varies from state to state. They cannot prescribe medications in NY, CT or NJ. They can in a few New England states such as New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.
In general, I believe they have more license to prescribe medications out west.
In any event, they still offer valuable services and insight when used along with an LLMD who may not be well versed in a more holistic approach.

Dr. K is teaching an evening talk Feb 12, 7pm in NYC on healing long term lymewithout antaibiotics. Many complementary MD's will be there. A good place to meet those who can help you in person! My LLMD is going!
