So here's my story
Male 35, tick bite about 1.5 years ago
red inflammation around bite but not typical bulls eye, about the size of a quarter clearing after 2-3 weeks
About a month after the tick bite I started getting strange shooting muscular pain and some other stuff but I'll be honest I cant remember what it was but I looked up Lyme because I remembered the tick and it seemed to fit...As I don't have insurance I went to the walk in clinic and had to convince the doctor that there was even a possibility in was lyme, he wanted to have me get screened but he said it was going to be $200 and was unreliable so basically I talked him into just treating me with a clinical diagnosis so he did, sort of, he gave me 100mg of doxy for 10 days which from what I have now read seems to have been far less than would be required.
The symptoms seemed to subside though so I didnt think anything of it and thought I was good...over the last year however the symptoms below have developed and gotten bothersome.
Current symptoms: muscle twitches, mostly eye and neck, sometimes both eyes and neck at the same time, knee pain (no history of injury and no swelling just pain), always tired, trouble fucusing, generally cranky though historically my nick name is Mr. smiley (yes really). Night sweats but I sweat alot always so not sure if this is relevent.
Although everyone I know thinks I'm nuts and still without insurance I ordered myself the Lyme test online and went to have blood taken. THe results were
IgG p41 present all other IgGs absent
IgM p23 present and IgM p39 present IgM p41 absent.
I would like to go directly to a doctor who knows about Lyme already instead of having to "convince" him of anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
