I think she is a good doctor - very thorough. But! difficult to get appointments, and difficult to get a hold of, to get questions answered.

Dr. R. has recently hired a Physician's assistant but I am not sure of the PA's experience level yet.

I have talked to some folks who have been with her for several years and say that she has saved them.

Jury is out for us, but mostly because we are early in treatment - and it is hard to get responses, even in urgent situations.

I took my daughter in to see the PA a couple of weeks ago. They said she can get get the ball rolling and she did do an initial eval and ordered a slew of tests. Some have been completed and some have not (the tilt table ANS and EMG) due to insurance roadblocks. But the office staff said they would try to get it covered for me and I am just letting them make the phonecalls.

The follow up with Dr. R is scheduled out 3 months later, but they said they would call us and move her up the wait list as available. I have gotten called from them as late as 8:00 pm so I know the staff is doing the best they can with the overwhelming volume of patieints.

I have also heard other stories of displeasure with the doc herself, but I am willing to give her a chance.

They are very overwhelmed - and I think trying to figure out how to manage such a complex patient load. Everyone who shows up is SICK and needs lots of attention and tests. This is one of the FEW LLMDs who still takes insurance, and we should be very thankful for that.

And insurance companies do not reimburse for s**T for office visits.

I know the Doctor and staff are doing the best they can - and trying to help as many people as they can.

I like Dr. R - I believe she is very thorough and careful with each patient.

But to get answers, you need to save up your questions (if not urgent) and do it during the office visit. Don't try to get an answer on something at the last minute, cause it probably won't be possible.

They are just so busy. At least one of the office staff volunteers her time and works on Sundays to try to get things accomplished. They get many, many calls a day and try to wade through them as best they can. I was frustrated too, but after talking to one of the staff members, I recognise their huge work load.I know it's hard to be patient. Hopefully they will get back to you soon.
