My daughter is 19. For numerous years she has suffered from debilitating fatigue, joint pain, fevers, eczema, palpitations, and many other problems. Doctors have always told us that her lab results are fine, nothing is wrong with her.

Since September she has been fighting an autoimmune response in which her corneas are under attack. She kept it under control with steroid eye drops. As soon as she tapered and went off them, though, it flared back up so she had to go back on them. It appears that if she doesn't use the steroid drops, the inflammation will cause corneal scarring which could result in blindness.

I talked a local doctor into signing an IgeneX requisition, which we just received back. She is indeed positive (by Igenex criteria, not by CDC standards) on the Lyme IgM. I feel this is probably the underlying cause of so many of her problems, and they are getting worse rapidly.

I just made an appointment with a doctor in Columbia, MO but the earliest available was Mid March. I'm worried that her condition is degrading too fast to go four more months without doing ANYTHING.

Is it possible that there are any other doctors that might be willing to start her on treatment until she can get to her March appointment in Columbia?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
