Long story short -

34 year old female with 3 cases of Lyme.

I had two cases of Lyme in 2010. Was on oral antibiotics for 6 months and 6 weeks of IV antibiotics. It took fighting 3 doctors to finally get help. Even though my blood tests all came back positive for Lyme.

This spring I was reinfected. Went back to see the Infectious Disease doc that helped me last time. He prescribed 2 months of oral meds & 4 weeks of IV treatment. I've been off the IV for 2 weeks & currently on oral meds - and I feel awful! Very arthritic & depressed. I've called my doc - his nurse rudely informed me he'd see me on the 22nd but there's nothing more they can do for me. And wont give me the name of a Lyme specialist doc til I come in. Guess they want more of my money [Frown]

So with all this history in mind - is there hope of feeling my age every again?

I'd like a doctor in Northern VA but I'm willing to travel. And a doc that works with insurance would be best. Even with insurance this is costing me a pretty penny.

Thanks for your time & willingness to help.

Stay away from ID doctors so you can get well. This stopping and starting is not helping you.
