Hi Was just wondering if any one knew of any good LLMDs in Maine. I am pregnant and after a few blood tests, my ob-gyn said I was definitely positive for lyme disease. Hoping to get to see someone who can help me and my unborn child get through this disease. Would really like to see a lyme specialist. Thank you for your help! ~Sam

You need to be on antibiotics during your pregnancy to protect the baby!!!!
If any of the drs I'm sending you says otherwise, find another!!

Thank you so much! Every single doctor that I have talked to (not lyme specialists) have told me that the baby won't be affected by the lyme... It just makes me so angry because everyone else tells me that it can pass to the baby. It's so irritating to need help, yet not be able to get it. I'm so glad I found this website. I will be calling the specialists to see how quickly I can get in with them. Thank you so much! You don't know how much I appreciate your response. I do have one more question though... Don't they recommend IV antibiotics with pregnancy? I'm going to push that. Again, thank you! ~Sam

Dr. J, the best Lyme pediatrician, has put together a protocol for pregnant women with Lyme which can be followed with your doctor. You should be under the care of a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD) - don't trust the others as they have no understanding about this complex disease.
I will pm you with his contact information.
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to Lyme. Thanks.
