Hi, I'm not sure if anyone can help me with this but I've been searching the internet for weeks and can't really find anything - I spent the last year being treated with abx by a LLMD and at this point there's nothing more she can do for me - she wants me to pay for IV abx out of pocket and I can't so...I'm turning to natural methods - after a year of treatment with no results, it's time for me. I'm looking for some kind of practitioner in NJ (I'm in northern jersey) who can help me out since I'm kind of left high and dry here. I'm also looking for a nutritionist who is lyme-literate...I'm running out of foods that I can eat without feeding bacteria or viruses or being allergic...I'm left at this point with only vegetables and that's not enough to live on...

...thanks in advance!

Welcome, Whitney.

So that I can read the post, here' that broken up with some white space breaks. Many here can only read 3-4 line paragraphs. You'll get more replies that way.

I hope you get some specific names.

In the meantime the thread below is a set of stepping stones.

Many in these categories also have extensive nutrition education.

It's best to consult with an ILADS-educated LL (lyme literate) doctor who has completed four years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -

- and someone who is current with ILADS' research & presentations, past and present.

How to find an ILADS-educated LL:

N.D. (Naturopathic Doctor);

L.Ac. (Acupuncturist);

D.Ay. (Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine);

D.O.M. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine);

Integrative / Holistic M.D., etc. (Be aware that those in this category can have various levels of formal herbal &/or nutritional education, perhaps even just a short course. Do ask first.)

Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:

Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures from all corners of medicine;

knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.

You can compare and contrast many approaches.

BASIC HERBAL EDUCATIONAL & SAFETY links,

BODY WORK links with safety tailored to lyme patients,

LOW HEAT INFRARED SAUNA detail,

BIONIC 880 (& PE-1) links, and

RIFE links.

If you are seeing Dr. E in Nj...she's just a very distracted dr. She used to be wonderful but is TERRIBLE now, allowing alot of coinfections to go untreated. please if she is your dr. get to another one asap.! she's a very nice person but i was her patient and she just is not on the ball anymore and i see so many of her patients paying the price. If you do have lyme it's not effective to go natural if you have already done abx., personally i don't tink herbs ever cure lyme but the experts who say it does also say not once you've introduced abx into the system. ..please reconsider remaining on abx and then adding naturals if you want. There are soooooo many abx and some drs. don't employ them..dr. e for some reason kept me on ceftin while i deteriorated to the point i needed a wheelchair...Blessed be G-d i got to a new dr. and use great abx and switch them around. Can it be that you are on 1 drug and deteriorating ? There are plenty of great drugs out there and you are in a great state...find a dr. to use the abx properly and address any coinfections that may be causing your lack of response. mick
