Since it sounds like no good options are avail for Oregon LLMD's, and since I live 30 miles from the CA border, would appreciate any northern CA recommendations (north of Redding are best). I prefer a list of MD or NP qualified, so hopefully can get insurance coverage! Thanks, Janna

DERK, this is for you:
If that chiropractor is ILADS educated and truly lyme literate, that is best. Otherwise, you could be taking herbs till the cows come home and get nowhere.
I know. I did that with a ND who said they knew all about lyme, were wise with herbs but the turned out to NOT really know about lyme at all.
Chiropractors often receive little or no formal training in herbal supplements but some may get some training in nutritional supplements like vitamins.
Best if you can see a LLMD and a LL ND as they can complement each other and many do work together professionally.
However, if that is not a choice and you are drawn to herbal treatment, realize that even many LL NDs insist upon antibiotics - for good reason.
For this kind of approach, it's best to consult with an ILADS-educated LL (lyme literate) doctor who has completed four years of post-graduate medical education in the field of herbal and nutritional medicine -
- and someone who is current with ILADS' research & presentations, past and present. -----------------------
Integrative / Holistic M.D., etc. (Be aware that those in this category can have various levels of formal herbal &/or nutritional education, perhaps even just a short course. Do ask first.)

Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures from all corners of medicine;
knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.
