Looking for feedback/experiences with Dr. S. (the woman) in Towson, MD. I'm thinking of making an appt. I've read she takes an integrative approach to treatment and am interested in this. My last llmd was great, but not much alternative therapy knowledge. I don't tolerate a lot of abx. well. Thanks for any help in advance.

I would not call this person a lyme doctor.

Many doctors will treat lyme disease, but that doesn't mean they specialize in it or know much about it.

A good lyme doctor treats lyme full-time (meaning all of their patients are lyme patients) or a large majority of their patients are lyme patients (this is less common for a good lyme doctor).

Just look at the doctor's website and you will see that this doctor treats all kinds of ailments. So, you know that this person could not have the specialized experience a doctor is going to have who has treated hundreds and thousands of lyme patients.

I can give you the names of some good lyme doctors if you want them.

Many people with lyme do not tolerate antibiotics well. A good lyme doctor is used to this and knows how to deal with it.

It often is a sign of an inability to detoxify. So, the patient is given detox aids and then is able to tolerate the treatment.

The lyme docs I recommend are integrative--they use conventional meds and also herbs, supplements, alternative therapies, etc.
