Has anyone had any experience with this Institute? My son (25 yrs old), is still having neurological problems related to Lyme co-infections after 1-1/2 yrs of treatment. We are in PA and he saw this Institute on ESPN and is thinking about going there. I am a little leary, but I understand that he is sick of feeling sick and will try just about anything. Don't want to waste money, though, if this isn't legit. He has a website saying he treats brain trauma, Lyme and addictions.

I never heard of this doctor before. I'm kind of skeptical of stuff on TV but this doctor seems to have a pretty interesting approach. He seems to be pretty knowledgable.
If you do decide to go - I'd love to hear how it went. Is he expensive?
Please post again.
Good luck!

You want to go to someone who specializes in lyme disease. That means, they treat lyme disease 100% of the time. That is how a doctor develops expertise in this complex illness.
You are considering going to someone who treats brain trauma, lyme, and addictions. That doesn't sound like someone who will know much about lyme disease.
I know something about florida lyme doctors, and I never heard of this place. I suggest you forget it.
You have the best lyme doctor in the nation and likely in the world right in New York state, next door to you. Why not go to him? That is what I would do if I were suffering with lyme. The doc will do telephone appointments after the first in person appointment, so you won't have to travel monthly.
I got rid of lyme, babs, and bart 8 years ago and I am still symptom free. I keep up with who the best doctors are and hang around this board just to help people get to the best doctors so they don't have to waste years trying to get rid of this horrendous disease.
I wasted 2 years with a doctor who didn't know enough to cure me. I got well when I switched to a doctor who followed the Burrascano protocol. I have 3-4 friends who also got rid of their lyme by going to doctors who followed Burrascano. It is the most successful protocol in the world, and is used all over the world.
The doc in NY follows Burrascano and is even extending the knowledge of lyme disease as Burrascano did when he was still practicing.
Send me a private message if you want all the info on how this doc treats, cost, etc. Click on the envelope icon above my post.
Don't waste time and money on an unknown.

Thanks for posting TF & fourwinds... Like they say, usually if something sounds too good to be true - it is.
I've been to other doctors who talk a good talk but are all about the money. It's pretty common. Medicine is tricky. The placebo effect really does work - so it's hard to tell right away who is trustworthy.
Not all doctors will be able to help everyone but you really do want to stay away from the obvious con-artists. I'm always leery of the TV or radio ones...
They can be the biggest snake oil salesmen/women.
