I live in NC and have trouble finding pain managemernt for lyme. They give child doses and put on my record I have Fibromyalgia. There is no realistic pain coverage or doctors to turn to. Anyone have any luck. I take a baby dose 12 mcg of Phentanyl patch, naturals and anti, inflammatories and glutathione.
The pharmacist who has seen our struggle is disgusted by the latest RX for me. Anyone have ideas

Are you being treated by a LLMD (Lyme-literate doctor)? Unfortunately, I don't think many of them prescribe pain meds.

Lyme disease can cause pain because the bacteria like connective tissue. A nerve is made up of many nerve cell fibers bound together by connective tissue. Inflammation also causes pain.

Fibromyalgia is not a disease, but symptoms from a bacterial or viral infection. It's a "diagnosis" non Lyme-literate doctors give their patients when they don't know what's going on!

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NorthCarolinalyme

Maybe they can help you.

Another resource for you:

Btw - Please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs. There are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
