I'm searching for a Lyme literate doctor in the New Jersey area for my 68 year old mother. For the past couple years we have gone to numerous doctors that have not been able to find any cause for her ailments and symptoms.

A family friend that has Lyme Disease and has gotten treatment had suggested to get tested since she had experience many of the same symptoms.

Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NewJerseylyme

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you:
www.lyme-aware.org

www.ilads.org
www.lymediseaseassociation.org

Once you get some names, write a new post in "Seeking a Doctor" to ask for personal references. This way, you will find the right doctor to give you the correct treatment.

You know TF and hopingandpraying are doing a disservice to people looking for a NJ dr. All of the links they post of as "proof" there are no good drs in NJ are like three people parroting that "oh yeah there is no good LLMD's in NJ" That is wrong. I go to a top notch LLMD right in the middle of northern NJ and there are others.
cindoper I will be PMing you. Just go to the link above that says my profile and you will see a flashing file.

trishden - I am not a moderator, but try to help anyone who needs it by providing information to all who request it if I have it. I do this on a VOLUNTARY basis, dedicating a substantial amount of time to the process.

I came to Lymenet looking for help for my son and found it. I am "paying it forward", as I want to help others.

You did not need to to attack TF and myself like that in saying we are "doing a disservice to people looking for NJ doctors". Just because there are LLMDs in a particular state does not make them good, but hearing from others and their experiences is very important.

I pm-ed you before requesting the name of the "top notch LLMD" you go to, but have received nothing as of yet. Please send me the names and contact information for NJ which you have and I will gladly forward this info to those requesting it.

@hopingandpraying, I don't know what your talking about, "me not responding" I sent you a reply to your pm back on 10/13 titled "A question & request for you" and it says under status "Read by Recipient". Look again in your Incoming Private Messages folder.

As far as stating the disservice, is wasn't meant as an attack. With almost a population of 9 million in NJ, I can't see how people can make a blanket statement as there are no good LLMDs in NJ with siting only 3 people's opinion.

I have been here since 2001 with personal experience with Lyme for 18 years and I too have payed it forward with pms to people in need.

I think this is an open forum where anyone can volunteer as much time as they feel well enough to give, I'm glad your health is well enough where you can dedicate a "substantail amount of time". Keep up the good work!
