Hello, My daughter goes to school at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg Virginia and is so disgusted with each doctor she has seen (including the Emergency Room twice)for help with her joint pain. They just keep giving her a prescription for pain killers.
Please, does anyone know of a LLMD in the area? If not a LLMD than how about a doctor who will take time to find the root of the problem and not just hand out narcotic drugs !!
Thank you.

Try the lyme support group in Richmond. See Support Groups on left side of page.
Be sure to get personal recommendations for any lyme doctor prior to going. Organizations like ILADS give out any doctor's name that wants it given out. It doesn't mean the doctor is any good at treating lyme and it doesn't mean that he even follows the ILADS lyme treatment guidelines.
So, when it comes to lyme, you need to hear from lots of people who have seen that doctor. You can ask the support groups or here on LymeNet.
Don't want you to have a bad experience.

There is a new lyme support group in Blackburg, VA. Many of those patients see the LLMD near Hollins University (I am not allowed to list the city due to LymeNet rules).
