I got my mom the Igenex test kit, but her MD cannot sign it because she's not registered with Igenex. Who in Philadelphia can sign it and draw her blood so she can finally do the test?
Doesn't necessarily have to be an llmd (through probably it will be...) I just need to get her tested for starters. Please help!

yes- could u please send me the list? That's what they say... they have to be registered with Igenex.....its not as easy as everyone seems to imply ...

- Also note that early in the week is best. It's never wise to have blood drawn too close to the weekend (or before a Monday holiday) for any test, really, as it can sit around in the wrong place and get old, causing testing errors.
Calling the lab to be used to be sure of their FED EX pick up schedule and allowing enough time for the tech to do their job and get it prepared helps, too. Shift changes might be of importance, lunch breaks, etc.

I just called IGeneX - 1-800-832-3200. No doctor needs to register. Any patient can order a free testkit from IGeneX, have a doctor sign off on it and send in their bloodtest sample.
The lab verifies that the doctor is in practice and where to send back results. They said it helps if the doctor puts their U Pin# or NPI# on the form - that speeds up the verification process.
So no, no registration is needed and you can tell them that.
The doctor signing off on the test form will receive the test results, and you should get a copy too, but the doctor does not have to be Lyme-literate.
You can show your test results to a Lyme-literate doctor and you can discuss them with knowledgeable Lyme folks like people on this board and you will learn what you need to know.

Your dear Mom needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMDS). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
