Hello. I am looking for an LLMD in Northeast PA or within a reasonable driving distance. I live in Scranton, PA right now and have been going to a LLMD in Tunkhannock but am not too pleased. I started showing symptoms beginning of June (tick bite on Memorial Day, no rash, found dead tick under my breast months later), started doxy Oct. 1 and still on it with no improvement. I have pretty much every single symptom of Babesia and want to get treated for it, plus had a big herx on Babesia herbs I had been taking from a naturopath I went to. My LLMD has not mentioned or doesn't seem like he will ever treat me for it so I am looking for someone else. I don't have a lot of money and my current LLMD accepts my insurance which is the only good thing. I am IgeneX positive across the board.

Also, my husband has started showing symptoms. What a nightmare.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for PA.

When you call for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pennsylvanialyme

Maybe they can help you.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, just wrote a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It has excellent information.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
