I currently have a DR but travel 5 1/2 hrs. each way for short visit plus overnight stay. Looking for doctor with experience and success at treating chronic Lyme patients. I have been treating for 11 yrs. Currently experiencing results on Compounded Tetracyclin and yeast free diet plus Nystatin and Fluconazole. Had not been treated with Tetracyclin in the past. This is my 5th doctor. Saw Dr. D in Boston after 1 1/2 yrs into treatment with Dr. near Waterville, Me. Neither doctor was effective. Kennebec, Maine Drs. who treated with Chinese supplements. Not enough. Bridgeport, CT Dr. all out of pocket expenses plus long stressful travel. Did not address yeast symptoms. Feel better on yeast free diet, not easy, but feel better. I am almost 66 and have Medicare and Tri-Care for Life.

Welcome to Lymenet!

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/mainelyme

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you:
www.lyme-aware.org/maine.html

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Dr. H, the top LLMD, just wrote a book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Btw - up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

I would say that you likely know who every LLMD in Maine is. So you know your options?? I've never had rave reviews on anyone in that area of the country.

I have the name of another Dr in MA if you'd like to try her.

Otherwise, I would say TREAT the YEAST!! Get after it big time. It is probably your answer. I treated Lyme and babesia for 4 yrs and am well.. but the yeast nearly put me totally out of commission.

Look into making your own cultured vegetables and buy a book by Donna Gates called Body Ecology Diet. It may be your ticket to freedom! It was for me!

PS .. Were you aggessively treated for babesia? It is something that can really hold you back.
