Looking for a good Dr. In Va for myself, a 55 year old with RA, but I suspect lyme as well. Severe symptoms last summer after multiple tick bites. I get bites every year. Zyto scan interpreted that I had long term chronic lyme with co infections, but 3 lyme tests have been negative. I'm in central Va. Feedback appreciated on Dr. H or Dr.Z, or really anyone good. Accepting insurance would be a great bonus. Thank you.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for VA & MD.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/marylandlyme

Maybe they can help.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is a very good source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
