I am 35 years old have been very sick for a few years but have been uninsured. I recently was tested for lyme and the test was positive. My general practitioner is not well versed in treatment of lyme, and I would like to see a doctor who has experience treating people whose infection has been caught very late. I am in the Philadelphia area. Thanks so much for any help finding a doctor!

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for PA & MD.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
When you call for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

Hello.
I, too, am looking for a Lyme-literate doctor in the Philadelphia area. I am pretty sure that my daughter (age 13) is having some chronic Lyme-related symptoms.
