Looking for a LLMD in Tennessee for an adult who just came to the realization that a myriad of neurological and muscle pain symptoms could be Lyme. A Dr. K in Tennessee, who I found on my own, cannot see new patients for over a year due to backlog. Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for VA, MO & NC. No LLMDs in TN, GA, AL or SC - they are far and few between, unfortunately! You need to go where they are. Most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this: "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/15615?#000005 When you call for an appointment, ask if there are any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this. Check the online state Lyme groups at:http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/tennesseelyme Maybe they can help you. Some more resources for you (including Support Groups):www.lyme-aware.org/tennessee.html www.tn-lyme.org The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information. Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon. View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Thanks all for the help. I have an appointment with Dr. T in Virginia. If anyone has any experience with Dr T in Virginia, could you please send me a PM and give me some details? We'll be driving 7 hours to see the Dr, so we want all the information we can find.

I am not familiar with this doctor. Did someone recommend this doctor? I highly recommend contacting support groups to make sure he/she is knowledgeable.

brentutk - the VA Support Groups would know more about LLMDs in their state. Contact poster 'seibertneurolyme' for more info on this LLMD.
