We believe my husband has lymes disease and have sent out blood work through a specialized clinic. They seem to know their stuff but would like to get feedback on any other doctors in the area. Thank you so much.

Welcome to Lymenet! I don't have any names as of yet for AZ.

Your husband needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

When you call for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in earlier by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/arizonalyme

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you:

Dr. H, the top LLMD, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check the local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Thank you for all your help. We found a clinic that treats lymes disease and they sound very thorough and informed. I asked but will call anmgain and make sure they are LLMD's. Am I allowed to name the clinic we are seeking help from?

I just called to verify and they said they are Lyme literate doctors. Is it typical for lymes treatment centers to request full payment upfront for treatments? They use a third party medical biller to help recoup costs but the upfront costs are unreal.

I would contact the AZ Support Groups I gave you. They would probably know about the situation there.

Btw - the disease is Lyme, not Lymes.
