I'm looking for Lyme specialist in Central NJ near Princeton NJ.

I completed cancer treatment 8 weeks ago (chemotherapy and radiation) for rectal and anal cancer. Seven weeks after treatment the lyme exhaustion and neck pains have returned. Oncologist said its not related to cancer treatment.

I was treated with Lyme two years ago with 6 months of antibiotics cocktail which seemed to work but that Lyme doctor is 2 hours away each way in Central PA and booked until end of August. With all the other doctors I have to see now in NYC, its too much to travel.

Please - I need referrals close to home with a doctor that can see me soon! The oncologists, primary and other doctors don't seem to have a clue how to help me. I'm going away in August for three weeks and need to get started with some type of treatment before then!

Welcome to Lymenet!

So sorry you are going through this. I don't know of any in NJ, but sent you some suggestions.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/newjerseylyme

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources (including Support Group info):
www.lyme-aware.org/new-jersey.html

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
