Hi, In trying to figure out if I have lyme, I realized that the rash my husband had a couple of weeks ago was Lyme, and that we erroneously attributed his symptoms to sun poisoning. He even had more symptoms that he didn't talk about, but told me after I figured out what it was. He went to our regular Dr. and started on Doxycycline today. At the same office, I had a blood test a year and a half ago and only had 1 marker, which I don't quite understand, but the dr. said that they don't treat unless there is more than one marker. I have had continuing aches and pains and tiredness, but also always waking up over and over through the nights. Unexplained joint and muscle aching. Forgetfullness and can't think of the right words to use sometimes, even though I have a good vocabulary.
I am looking for a LLMD either in the Syracuse area of central NY, where I am right now and visit often, or the Philadelphia area, we live NW of the city.
Thanks so much! cheryljoy

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for upstate NY & PA.
You both need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
LLMDs are far and few between, so you need to go where they are!
Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:
Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

Thank you! It's very useful information, but a little disheartening because I don't have money to pay that much, though I do understand it.
My husband has been put on Doxycycline, 100 mg twice a day, fortunately. I hope he will respond well to it.
I'll continue to read the information you linked to here, and keep reading posts, try to figure out what to do for myself.
Thank you for all the help. cj
