I am moving next week to NC just south of Fayetteville. I have had three western blots that all showed lots of bands. A few years ago I went out to the Midwest and saw one of the best LLD but that is to far now. I am getting worse and need some help. The stress of this move along with some PTSD over the past couple of years had set me back. Can anyone suggest any Dr over in NC? Please. SE

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for NC & VA.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

Unfortunately, LLMDs are afar and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/northcarolinalyme

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources (including Support Group info):

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
