I'm in South Jersey (Burlington County). I was just diagnosed with a recent infection but may have had chronic lyme for over 10 years (I was diagnosed with CFS). I'm willing to travel into Philadelphia or out to the Shore towns if necessary. Thank you.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for PA.

I don't know of any in NJ.

Unfortunately, most LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/15615?#000005

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/newjerseylyme

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources (including Support Group info):

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
