Hello,

I am searching for a LL Naturopathic doctor in Southeastern Pennsylvania. My daughter, who is 13, was diagnosed with Lyme at age 7.

She responded to a 28-day course of antibiotics, but by a few months later, I felt she was either still sick or had Lyme again.

She has been sick on and off (mostly off) over the years, but recently has been feeling terribly. Testing shows Lyme, Mycoplasma Pneumonia, Candida, possibly others....either as past or current infections.

I'd like to explore some holistic treatments with a Naturopath who is familiar with Lyme and coinfections.

Thank you very much for your help.

We hear this story all the time! Your daughter was undertreated at age 7. So, she had had lyme all of this time.

See this quote:

"GENERAL PRINCIPLES
In general, you can think of LB as having three categories: acute, early disseminated, and chronic. The sooner treatment is begun after the start of the infection, the higher the success rate. However, since it is easiest to cure early disease, this category of LB must be taken VERY seriously. Undertreated infections will inevitably resurface, usually as chronic Lyme, with its tremendous problems of morbidity and difficulty with diagnosis and treatment and high cost in every sense of the word." (page 3)

I strongly suggest you read and STUDY the Burrascano Lyme Treatment Guidelines to get your education on this disease.

Then, get your daughter to the very best lyme doctor you can.

Lyme and its coinfections are difficult to cure. The most famous and followed lyme treatment protocol is the Burrascano protocol.

As you will see, it involves high doses of antibiotics given in combination, not one at a time.

In addition, various supplements are required, plus an anti-yeast diet and non-aerobic exercise to strengthen the immune system and push the antibiotics deeper into the tissues.

I got rid of my lyme disease once I switched to a doctor who followed the Burrascano protocol. Burrascano was the most successful lyme doctor on the planet. People came from all over the globe to be treated by him. Doctors in many countires follow his treatment guidelines.

So, if you decide to give this protocol a try, you can contact the lyme support groups in your state and nearby states and ask for names of doctors who follow Burrascano. See Support Groups on the left side of the page.

I sent 5 of my friends to doctors who followed Burracano and they all got rid of their disease. So, I believe in the Burrascano protocol because I have seen it work over and over again.

I can give you the names of lyme doctors who follow Burrascano. Let me know if you would like to have them. These doctors are not in Pa., however.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for PA & MD.

One course of antibiotics is not anywhere near enough to treat Lyme disease. Your dear daughter needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

LLMDs are far and few between, so you need to go where they are!

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/2/15615?#000005s

When you call for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pennsylvanialyme

Maybe they can help you.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
