I am new to the DC area and need to find a LLMD that takes insurance. I have found a few LLMDs here but not a single one yet that takes insurance. This is a must if I am to get treatment. All leads are greatly appreciated.
I can travel throughout the metro area and surrounding cities and indeed am VERY willing to travel to find a doc that takes insurance. Baltimore and northern VA are particularly accessible.
I'm also looking for LLRNs, herbalists, and other LL practitioners of any stripe.
Thank you so much for your time, megan

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Hi all,
I appreciate your responses.
I should have noted that I've been in this community and in that battle for some time. I am quite aware of the sad politics and insurance issues. My trusted LLMD is retiring and so I have a need to have a regular treating physician.
I do not have the money to pay for lyme specialist that doesn't take insurance although I understand why I (may) be better off with one. If I want a doctor to monitor me, they must take insurance - end of story. Perhaps some day I will have the money to pay out of pocket. Till then, I'll take what I can get.
I disagree that good care is impossible to find without paying out of pocket. Hard to find, sure. Impossible to find, I've proven that wrong in my own battle. (A glimmer of hope for those that can't pay out of pocket).
Any further names or leads that do take insurance is greatly appreciated. I'll come back and update when I've found a LLMD in the DC area that does take insurance.
Thanks to all.
