Hello,

My family doctor feels I have lyme disease. He put me on 3 weeks of amoxicillen which I completed 2 weeks ago. This is the second time I have been diagnosed as having lyme disease and I wonder if I was ever truly free of it. After a couple weeks of research, there is no doubt in my mind. Lyme disease explains all of what I thought were unrelated problems.

I live in the narrow part of Maryland. In less than an hour I can travel from Pennsylvania, through Maryland and West Virginia into Virginia. I would take names of doctors in all 4 states.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MD, VA & PA.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/statenamelyme

Maybe they can help.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
