Hi, just joined this site. Been suffering from Lyme and related issues for over 10 years. Have been seeing an LLMD in CT since 2005. He's helped me get to about 80% better, but I think I need to look for Dr's that can help me go further. Never been treated for co-infections,which I think is an issue. Current Dr thinks I have residual auto-immune issues and this is as good as I can get. Just not ready to accept that when I haven't tried too many other protocol's. I"m currently reading Bryan Rosner's new book, Freedom From Lyme Disease, and would like to try some of the protocols in his book with the help of an LLMD.

Thanks in advance

Chris

Welcome to Lymenet! I already sent you a PM for CT in your previous post.

It is very important that co-infections be treated.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease and its complex treatment!

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/connecticutlyme

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):
www.lyme-aware.org/connecticut.html

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

View "Under Our Skin" for free on www.hulu.com

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
