Hello. I'm in need of an llmd in Arizona. Preferably one that takes AHCCCS Mercy Care Plan.
I know it's not likely that they would take my insurance. But I have to try.
I'm 28 years old and have had symptoms since I was eight. Though still waiting for a positive test.
My family does not have a lot of money. I fear I will never get treatment.
Any help will be most appreciated. Thank you!

Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis. You can test negative for Lyme and still have it. You should still be tested through IGeneX Labs in Palo Alto, CA.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.
I don't know of any Lyme-literate doctors in AZ who take insurance. You would have to call their offices to ask about your specific type.
Most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
You might also want to call the Lyme Disease United Coalition at (800) 311-7518. They are very knowledgeable and might be able to help you.
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.
