After struggling getting answered for not feeling well for 7 years, I believe Lyme is the answer. I have been looking to find a dr in my area. I have used yahoo group for Maryland but all the recommendations are not accepting new patients. I would appreciate a private message with any recommendations those on this site may have for LLMDs in southern MD or the Washington dc metro area. Appreciate any help.

I sent you a name and some info.

You can get in with this doctor quickly.

I hope to hear some good news after you have seen him!

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MD.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.

Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MarylandLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.
