Hi, Just got diagnosed with possible Lyme disease which if true I will be in a chronic state. Need to see a doctor who would specialize in chronic Lyme and not acute Lyme disease.
thanks, Jeff in Ofallon

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MO.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in to see a LLMD sooner by doing this.
The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Hi,
I got an appt. moved up with Dr. C in late February now. I am also getting hooked up with a support group that meets locally as well. It is amazing once you discuss this with people how you find out how many people either have it or know someone who does. Thanks again for helping!
** edited name of LLMD per Lymenet rules... Dr C is the best!!***

Send him a private message, cardsfan. That way if he comes back, he'll see the "flashing envelope."
Click on the "envelope" next to the date by his name.
