Has anyone in Texas seen this doctor and had success? I had a friend mention her but i haven't heard much about her.

(Editing out doctor's name, per Lymenet rules - they're listed below with Terms and Conditions. Please pm this poster with any info)

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for TX.

I am not familiar with Dr. L in TX.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025539;p=0

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/TexasLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

One of the moderators edited your post.

OK, so which doctor is it? You may only use the last initial of the doctor's name, per Lymenet rules (no first names allowed).

To correct the mistake in your post, click on the pencil/paper icon, make the change, then click "Edit post".

Robin must have accidentally removed the wrong letters.. There was an "L" there, but not for an LLMD's name.

It's a DR K .. I'm not sure she is still in practice.
