I'm looking to help a 69 year old Filipina who is suffering from Mood disorder due to Lyme disease. She sees a psychiatrist and is looking for a talk therapist who is Lyme literate.

She lives in Berkeley Heights, NJ and has medicare.

Thank you

Welcome to Lymenet!

Glad you are helping the lady. Is she under the care of a Lyme-literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) also?

If not, she needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

They are far and few between, unfortunately. She needs to go where they are if she is able to travel.

I sent you a couple of names for NJ & one for NY.
I would recommend you call all these doctors to find out if they accept Medicare.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/NewJerseyLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Have her read www.thehumansideoflyme.net

In the meantime, magnesium deficiency often goes hand in hand with lyme. And a magnesium deficiency can cause all kinds of mood issues.

FISH OIL may also help while she sorts this out. Agreed, if lyme is not being treated, that is so very important to see a LLMD or address it directly, somehow.
