I believe I was bitten and the tick was engorged when I brushed it off. I would like to see a LLMD.

Lyme specialists are EXPENSIVE (don't take insurance, so you pay), few and far between (so you will likely have to travel a good ways to see one), and often have long waits to get in with them.
So, I suggest you go to an urgent care and tell them about the bite and get some antibiotics right away.
If you get a rash, take a picture of it. Then, go to another urgent care and get more antibiotics.
NOne of them will give you meds for long enough.
If you get any symptoms of illness--like the flu, etc. then go wherever you have to go to get more antibiotics.
Hopefully this tick did not give you any disease.
No sense getting tested right now. It takes 4-6 weeks after a bite to get a positive test. And, many get a negative test even when they have lyme. So, you must go by symptoms.
See Support Groups on the left side of the page. They can tell you where folks in your area go for tick bite treatment.

- You might indicate what region of Illinois you are in & the closet border states to you in your inquiry, too. Illinois covers a lot of territory.
If you want names for another state in addition to IL, best to put that in the heading. You can click onto the "edit" icon (tiny paper and pencil over your top post) and just change heading as you would text, too.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
They are far and few between, unfortunately. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner to see a LLMD by doing this.
The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.
Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
