Hello. Old Lymie here.

I was treated for 7 years by a LLMD in PA who does not treat children. I was wondering if anyone knows of a LLMD in the central Ohio area? I'm saddened that in 13 years, I am STILL getting the same nonsense on how it doesn't exist or is rare here in Ohio, even when I share my story. Anyway, there's a good chance that my almost 4 year old may have Lyme and I'd like to have some names of doctors that I can turn to as our ped. is not willing to work with us AT ALL. Thank you!

PM sent for OH.

Your dear child needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also, most LLMDs do not take insurance due to the politics surrounding this disease. Read poster TF's explanation about this:

"Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance"

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:

Maybe they can help.

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
