I am looking for an LLMD to treat my husband. His regular MD diagnosed him last month through blood tests and we have been unable to find a doctor.
We are in the Kansas City metro, but are willing to travel.
Dr B., in our area, is not taking any patients, so that option is out.

also, my husband is in his 30s and his doctor believes he diagnosed it 30-60 days after he contracted it.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MO.
Your husband needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. He needs to go where they are.
Most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.
Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check the local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Swann, I am also in the KC area and am trying to get tested. Did your husband have symptoms for a long time? What labs did the MD use. Thanks. Do you know what kind of test they did?
