Sorry if this has already been answered.

I am honestly too foggy, tired and exhausted physically and mentally to read or research.

I was tested positive for a SECOND time in two years for LYME Elisa test.

The first time was 2 years ago. The doctor ran the western blot and refused to treat me because I got a negative.

Now it's been 2 years and my health has seriously taken a toll for the worst.

I am 27 years old, I have always been athletic, healthy and hopeful about my future. I have huge dreams and goals. But now I can barely function.

I am suffering physically but also, neurologically. My brain is in a total fog most of the time.

I can't remember what I was about to do next. My eyes are killing me constantly. They feel dry, sore, heavy... They won't focus on anything.. It always feels like I'm staring into space.

I can't work- as much as I try. The computer screen is too bright... It hurts to type this on my phone.

This is just one of the many horrible symptoms I feel on a daily basis, which fluctuate and very throughout the month and has been persisting for years now and getting worse.

My family and friends do not think I am as sick as I am, because I am not laying on the floor... And because they do not understand the severity of this disease and the controversy surrounding it .

They trust the doctor… Even though the doctor is the one Who is responsible for making my condition worse since they refused to treat me two years ago.

I suspect I not only have chronic late stage Lyme disease but also the coinfections.

Please, please someone tell me where I can get tested for lime and co-infection and also get treated.

I am in the New York/New Jersey area.

I am wishing all of you all health and hope in the struggle with this horrible disease. Thank you in advance for all your help.. And for taking the time to read this and listen to me when it feels as if no one else will.

Kate

I sent you a name and also some information. If you could travel to the D.C. area, I could give you the name of a really good lyme doctor that I am sure could take care of you.

You could take the train to D.C. and then the subway to his office.

Let me know if you are interested. He will do telephone appointments after your first in-person appointment. So, you would not have to travel much at all.

He follows the Burrascano protocol when it comes to the antibiotics used to treat lyme and its coinfections. He will test you for all of the infections.

I have a lot of confidence in him.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MD.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/NewJerseyLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources (including Support Groups info):

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a new book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
