Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for VA & MD.

Thanks for the clarification - no need to apologize, completely understand.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.

Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/VirginiaLyme/info

Maybe they can help.

Some more resources for you (including Support Groups info):

The top LLMD, Dr. H, has written a book entitled, "Why Can't I Get Better?". It is an excellent source of information.

Read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Also looking for LLMD or mainstream dr who is Lyme friendly for 14 yo teen with late stage Lyme symptoms and positive Lyme test. We are in No VA, so DC or Nova would be good.

I'm new here and have PM set to on but am unsure if I have to have multiple posts to receive PMs.

Thanks!

yancync .. No, you just need to create your own thread so it will be noticed. Most will not look under someone else's thread to see if others need help.

See the first thread in Seeking a Doctor to know how to do that.. or go to the link here:

http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=015522;p=0

Then create a new thread. Good luck and welcome! [Smile]

yancync - Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for VA & MD.

You should write a new post instead of adding on to an existing one. That way, more people will see it and respond, because most people don't re-read old posts.

madridhooligan - Welcome to Lymenet!

I was going to recommend you write a new post instead of adding on to an existing one, because most people don't re-read old posts, but I see you have already done that.

PM sent for VA & MD.
