Hello all. My son moved to LA 8 months ago and his health declined steadily.
Had issues for 2 years with constipation that progressed to incredible intestinal pain and what felt like a blockage.
He found a naturopathic GI who ran all kinds of tests thru IGenex and he found 4 markers for lymes and a positive for Yersinia enterocolitica.
He came home to Md while awaiting test results because he can not take care of himself anymore.
Now that results are in, he needs to find a doc in this area who can treat because he does not feel well enough to back to LA on his own.
Any direction would be GREATLY appreciated. Close to the Annapolis area would be nice but Baltimore is not far and DC is not out of the question.
We want someone who will take it seriously from the get-go no matter where we have to drive.
Thanks so much for any help you can offer!!!

I sent you a name.
Lyme doctors are few and far between. Many states don't have a single lyme doctor. Certainly most cities do not have any. Many people have to fly to see their lyme doctor and at least half of all lyme patients go out of state for their treatment.
When you say "he found 4 markers for lyme" what exactly do you mean? Do you have the lyme test results? If so, can you post what bands were positive on the Western Blot?
Was his overall Western Blot positive by Igenex?
Welcome to LymeNet! We will help you here all we can.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MD.
Your dear son needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.
To do that, click the pencil/paper icon, make your changes, then click "Edit Post". Thanks.
