My daughter, a 19-year old college student, was recently diagnosed with neurologic lyme after testing was performed on her CFS. She is going to begin IV antibiotic treatment when she is home in Boston for her spring break in a week. However, she needs to continue treatment when she returns to school in Tacoma, WA. I need to find a doctor who can oversee her care in Tacoma while she is at school.
Could you provide a list of LLMDs in the Tacoma, WA area for me?

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for WA.
Your daughter needs to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. She needs to go where they are.
Most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and his new one, "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme. Thanks.

Hey ERO,
Sorry your daughter is having to deal with all this and college too. Good she has someone like you who cares for her, loves her and is helping her too. She is a lucky girl.
To find a Lyme treating professional in any state please go to...
You will see a menu on the left that has "DOCTOR REFERRALS". That will take you to a site that has listings for your state and others.
There is also a "Help For You" Link on the menu. It has some cost reducing tips for tests, medications, insurance issues and other things.
Sure hope this helps. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Hope your daughter is feeling better soon!

Julien - you should write a new post instead of adding on to an existing one, because most don't re-read old posts. That way, more people will see it and respond.
