I live in Ohio and have been to see Dr. H a few times -- super nice guy, but does not believe in treating Lyme, only in treating our immune system's response to it (Low Dose Immunotherapy). I believe there is merit to that idea, but not as the one and only approach to treatment.
I just got home from a 3 day hospital stay for supposed Crohn's (even though I don't have the majority of Crohn's symptoms, but have intestinal inflammation). This was totally unexpected and new to me. I feel strongly that my stomach issues are related to Lyme (established diagnosis) and need to find a LLMD who is able to help get this sorted out and isn't afraid to be more aggressive about it.
That being said, I am looking for input regarding who is THE BEST LLMD in the US. I am sure this person won't be in Ohio, but I am willing to travel. Preferably along the East Coast (where I am assuming most would be, anyway).
Any suggestions or input would be so greatly appreciated.

So sorry you are having so many nasty problems, and now this latest one. Good grief!
Let's see if we can give you some choices so you can pick someone that might suit you personally.
I'm afraid if you asked 20 people who the best LLMD would be, you'd get 20 different answers.
They all have their own way of doing things, mostly based on the patients needs, but sometimes a set way that some like and others don't.
With choices you can contact the offices directly and get information specific to your situation.

Click there to find the names and contact information for health care professionals in many fields who are treating Lyme & TBD's in all of the states that have them.
Here are some ways to locate alternative health care professionals too.

Not sure there is any "best." I'd say it's more a matter of what kind of care you're interested in, and then finding out which docs offer it.

I guess what I was hoping for were suggestions of top LLMDs people have been to or would want to go to if distance and money were not an issue.
I am familiar with some of the bigger names/more well known, prominent LLMDs, but unsure if they live up to their "hype".
As for what type of care I'm interested in- I would expect a doctor to assess my situation and offer the appropriate care, as I am not really qualified to make that sort of decision.
Understandably "the best" can be a matter of opinion from one person to the next, but there are always a few particularly well known LLMDs most people have heard of and it's so hard to know if they live up to their reputation.
It's exhausting getting your hopes up and going through an initial appointment with a new doctor and spending all of the money and time only to be let down.
