Hi, My friend is getting IVIG through his Infectious Disease MD and has been on IV Doxy, many other meds as he had long term undiagnosed Lyme. I didnt think that ID doctors treated with IVIG. So does this mean the ID doctor is a good one? My friend says the Dr is trying to get him more IVIG as Medicare stopped the treatments.
I myself go to a good LLMD and am hoping she can help me qualify for IVIG. My tests were: 6/25/16-12/22/16. IGG subclasses 1-4 were 2 of 4 low. 6//6/17-9/21/17 one of 4 were low then Im 7 of 14 low, Im - 9/26/17 8 of 14 low and last test 4/13/18 of 23 serotypes 17 of 23 were low. Basically MD said my immune system is functioning at 27%.
Im on probiotics., enzymes and many supplements. I realize there is no quick fix but anyone have something that really boosted their immune system besides the expensive IVIG?

Is your friend's Infectious Doc an ILADS trained medical professional ? ILADS doctors can be from any speciality field in medicine as long as they trained with a Tick Borne Infection ILADS provider. So you need to find out this out.

My new primary doctor found my CVID disorder and referred me to an immunologist/allergist. Of coarse, a LLMD can also prescripe IVIG therapy but it's expensive and usually not covered through insurance. One MUST follow insurance step-by-step protocols in order for it to be insurance covered.

Hope this helps.
