Nursing mom seeking a LLMD for testing to rule out possible lyme infection contracted from husband.
Im new to this but my husband has been infected several times and is under current treatment from a LLMD in NY. We'd like to find a doctor to get me tested properly in PA.

I am in central Jersey, which is close to south eastern Pennsylvania, did you find a good Lyme literate doctor and if so, would you share the contact information with me?

Any info on a local LLMD would be appreciated. I am also in NJ.

FaithMama*5 - Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for PA.
I know you are looking to rule out Lyme, but there is a possibility you might have it along with your baby.
*NOTE: Click on the line icon located on the upper-left hand side of the page, then scroll down to "Pregnancy, Lyme & TBD". There is quite a lot of information there.
Because your husband is currently being treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD), you know that you need to be evaluated by one. If you have been diagnosed to have Lyme, you should be treated by the LLMD as well. Non LLMDs have no clue about this disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but you should not use your real name, because this is a public forum with all sorts of people on it. Read this link about it:
To remove your name from the signature line, click on "Edit Profile" under Lymenet Flash in the top middle section of the Lymenet page.
Click on "Edit Profile" on the left-hand side, scroll down to "Profile Fields" then down to "Signature". Make your changes, then click "Update Profile".

NJHelena & marie - you should write a separate post in "Seeking a Doctor" instead of adding onto an existing one, because most people don't re-read old posts.
