Welcome to Lymenet SteveUSMC

Connect with the TxLyme yahoo support group. They provide resources for Lyme patients in Texas and neighboring states;

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/txlyme/info

You can request a LLMD through ILADS here;

https://www.ilads.org/patient-care/provider-search/

You can request a LLMD through Global Lyme Alliance here;

https://globallymealliance.org/education-awareness/find-medical-professional/

There are not many LLMD'S in your area and you may have to travel. Start a folder with everything concerning your medical conditions. This can save you money. Include all medical procedures done, blood tests, mri's, prescription meds, daily symptom log, all medical practitioners seen, all test results, ect.

Get your financial affairs in order. Many LLMD'S don't participate in insurances so Lyme can be expensive to treat.

I will send you a private message.
Keep us posted on your progress. Wishing you better health.

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent for MO.

You need to be evaluated and treated by a LLMD. Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!

A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.

Here is a link for them:

http://www.lymenet.org/BurrGuide200810.pdf

LLMDs are far and few between, unfortunately, so you need to go where they are. At least half of all Lyme patients go out-of-state for care.

Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025539;p=0

When calling for an appointment, ask if they have any cancellations or a waiting list. Patients have been able to get in sooner by doing this.

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/OklahomaLyme/info

Maybe they can help. They would know better about OK.

Some more resources (including Support Groups info):

Here is info for those in the military with good information for you to use:

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check the local library or buy it used on Amazon.

Btw - I know you are new to Lymenet, but you should not use your real name, because this is a public forum with all sorts of people on it. Read this link about it:

To remove your name from the signature line, click on "Edit Profile" under Lymenet Flash in the top middle section of the Lymenet page.

Click on "Edit Profile" on the left-hand side, scroll down to "Profile Fields" then down to "Signature". Make your changes, then click "Update Profile".
