If suspect a Troll email the moderator about it.

There is an easy and simple way to report a post.
Simply click on the "report post" icon (with the whistle) which is at the bottom of every post. This will allow you to send an Alert to all the Moderators assigned to that Forum and allow us to easily identify the specific Post/Topic needing review or action.

vitch, i had this impression, as well, and is the reason i posted the warning--- in 2-3 posts there seems to be an apparent tacit/ implicit pretension ignorance, naivete, and innocence about the various aspects of the twisted, psychotic, economics and politics of the diagnosis, and treatment of lyme borreliosis.
thanks for finding the right words.
apparent pretension to ignorance, naivete, and innocence seem to be the hooks, by which to bait people into engaging them in "discussions."
however, i've concluded i did 'jump the gun' on one suspect who i did not report after reading all person's posts, and who, i'll not name, nor did i report.

Whew! Now there is an oxymoron - innocent trolls!
I agree that people should be on the lookout, but this is a moderated board. I imagine they have to read all kinds of junk before it gets past the moderators.
The best is to report your suspicions as noted above. Long discussions about them only lead to people suspecting the wrong poster and then we get into more stuff!

I think there is an easy solution -- do not say anything on a message board (or in an email to someone you don't know, for that matter) that you wouldn't want quoted in public, with your real name on it.
That goes for newbies, and oldies.

you should also consider that the most likely troll suspects may be individuals who accuse others of being trolls. it's a perfect cover. "me? how could I be a troll?"

true, but i didn't set out to post every single identifying feature of a troll. sci.med.diseases.lyme is a case in point for your example.

what do you mean by that? btw, I wasn't accusing anyone of being a troll, I was just playing devil's advocate.

patently obvious examples of a troll calling calling non-trolls, trolls, are found on sci.med.diseases.lyme.
