Anyone know anything about rocky mountain spotted fever?

Still sick after 3 months. I need my life back.

Any stories of others with this horrific illness? I would love to here of other people that survived this.

Sometimes it seems that this computer is my only comfort.

Thank you for your response!

YES- over the years in TBD chatrooms and conferences and action events I have met 3 other people with this and in all it was missed because it wasn't an acute acute illness as usual!!! (Hmm, Tailz, your malaria theory is looking more viable every second*)!!! So although you feel alone you are not alone-
I DO think you are on a very low dose of Doxy for RMSF but I am not a doctor- RMSF is a very serious illness- I hope others come along with your experience or with contact info for other RMSFers- I don't have any- sorry-
But I am glad you are here.

I had HME Human Monocytic Ehrlichiosis which is "the spotless spotted fever" when I first got sick and I had 104 fevers and horrible bowel problems. That was the only thing that cleared up when I was first treated with 30 days of Doxy- the HME- and those corresponding symptoms-

Anyway, sorry it is so hard-
I hope you feel better soon*)!!

Jayne,

The tests are so bad for all TBI I wouldnt believe ANY of them.

You CANT be sure you dont have co-infections that are making you sicker than the RMSF.???

You cant be sure you dont also have the regular old lyme disease right along WITH the RMSF,,,which was ALL that positved on your test your day!!

MY guess is you wont get well UNTIL you seek out a LLMD and make up your mind to just go!! Regardless of miles of travel.

Some solace and info sharing CAN occur with other local lymies. You dont have to get personal with any local lymies but just SHARE local info,,,and support IF you want it.

It never hurts to 'talk',,,e-mail that local contact I sent while back!! I am trying to help---trying to find MORE local lymies to share with!!

If you NEVER ever talk to me again,,,thats okay,,,talk to others!!!

I sure understand how frustrating and unusal THIS may be for you,,,usually when you get sick,,you take meds and you get well,,,not always so fast here!!

Resolve yourself you are in for the LONG haul here down a bumpy road!! You dont have a choice, might as well get used to it. Take the proper forks in the road for YOU. IF it ends in a deadend,,back up and take another fork.

But most of all keep trying till you are well!!being--just don--
