My little chihuahua is back in the hospital again. She almost died about five months back and she was doing so good in the last couple of months.
She is now throwing up blood and having bloody stools. They have her on IV fluids and gave her about six different meds.
They are going to keep her overnight and run a few more tests to see if they can determine what is causing the bleeding.
Please pray for her. She is like my child. We are hoping that she just has a bleeding ulcer from all of the meds that she has had to take from her last illness.

i'm praying for her. my mini schnauzers had bladder stones and severe gi upset if they ate any fat. one died at 7 but the other lived to 13 but i really had to learn to handle the gi stuff. hope she gets better soon. i hated it when my guys were in hospital.
ps-guess i should add this: last time kris had bloody diarhea notheing worked all weekend until a new vet came in on monday and told me to give him a whole theralac. he was a new dog in an hour! after 72 hrs are being really sick. it was amazing. two vets didn't know to tell me that but she did. if your girl doesn't respond maybe you should mention that...but kris was not vomiting. only bloody D.

Thanks momlyme. She's staying another night at the clinic. Hopefully she will be able to hold food down and we can bring her home tomorrow if everything goes well.

Thanks Lymetoo. I'm getting a little worried because they are having to take her off the medicine that has kept her alive from a previous illness back in Sept.
I will talk to the doctor soon. She's such a precious dog. I hate to lose her. Hopefully she will pull through.

momlyme-She is still at the hospital. Still having very loose stools. They got her to eat a little by hand feeding her.
He is going to check her blood levels tomorrow to see if she is loosing blood again. She has been on cyclosporine for about five months now and has been doing so good.
He can't treat her for a gastric ulcer while she is on the cyclosporine so we will just have to pray that she doesn't need it anymore.
They were just starting to wean her off the medicine to see how she would do and now this! It's so frustrating.

I'm so sorry... I know how you feel. My little dachshund has been sick on and off... her symptoms are so similar to my son's... if anything were to happen to her, it would set him back terribly.
I thought we were going to lose her last week. She is doing better now.
I pray your dog gets better... soon.

Thanks so much momlyme. I have cried so many tears over this dog. Five months ago she was hours away from dying. I thought that we were out of the woods.
Glad your baby is doing better.
