yuk. i am sitting at the computer. looking out the window. she is about 3 feet away...she is loaded. it bugs me cuz the neighbors feed birds that attract bears and i have been wondering about birds with ticks.
so far at this house-one year- i have not seen one tick. the ground is very sandy and therefore hot. grass is thin. i thought that is why i didnt have any. oh yuk. yuk. yuk.
there are so many new cases here and the docs give people nothing unless they complain and then they give them 400mg doxy one time!
apparently that is what cdc says to do????
what a mess we are in. and will be in. now i know why my home health aides are unable to do much. they are undiagnosed lyme and sick themselves but the docs just say with a laugh...oh your getting older.
HOW MANY YEARS HAS IT BEEN!!!!
have we not made any progress?

I'd say it's slow progress, and it especially helped when the film "Under Our Skin" came out - suddenly more people were becoming exposed to the info.
People used to not have a clue when I mentioned Lyme disease, and now more and more are saying, Isn't that something you get from a tick?
I think it's very very important that we speak up and educate as much as we can handle doing. I do it all the time, and ask them to tell others.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! 40 YEARS?!?! HORRIFYING!!!
I know I won't be participating in any US Public Health Service trials!!! Even if they have changed their policy. If not to be trusted before, why now?
